Atlas Staffing is searching for a CNC Lathe Machinist for a manufacturer in Caldwell, Idaho.
Job Summary & Overview:
Responsible for operating Lathe tools to produce precision parts in accordance with specifications. This includes producing both small batches and large quantities of parts while ensuring high accuracy. Attention to detail is critical. The role involves reviewing blueprints or specifications, monitoring cuts for precision, and replacing cutting tools as needed. Inspecting parts with micrometers, calipers, and other tools to verify conformity to specifications is essential. Machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders will be used to perform these tasks.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manually lift workpieces or use hoists; secure them in fixtures or load them into automatic feeding devices.
- Responsible for Cutting, Shaping, Forming into a variety of shapes.
- Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job,
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
- Finish machined parts by filing, sanding, or shaping with hand and power tools.
- Gibbs Cam a plus.
- Mori Seiki Lathe/Mori Seiki 5 Axis Vertical Mill
- Responsible for Set-up, Programming and operating CNC machines to produce small batches or large quantities of parts.
- Must be able and willing to work in a team environment.
- Ensure products meet precise specifications.
- Exercise focused attention to detail required.
- Excellent verbal, writing and communication skills.
- Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
- Monitor the accuracy of cuts, replace dull cutting tools.
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
- Use of Mics, Calipers and various handheld tools for parts inspection to verify conformance to specifications.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce parts.
Qualifications, Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Technical degree (AA) or vocational school equivalent preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
- Minimum 5-10 year of experience in a machine shop
- CNC/Programing experience required
Schedule:
- 40 hour work week within shop hours: 6am-6pm Monday–Friday
- Saturdays – varies
Pay: $27.00 – $34.00 DOE
