Atlas Staffing is hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer & Sheet Metal Programmer for a great manufacturing client in Liberty Lake, WA.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically-minded person to get in at the ground level, assisting with everything from design and CNC programming to troubleshooting fabrication problems. You will be a key part of the engineering team, contributing to new projects and improving existing products.
Job Summary
The Junior Engineer/Programmer assists in creating design drawings, programming CNC machines, and troubleshooting mechanical/fabrication problems in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure all manufacturing is productive, cost-effective, and meets quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Program parts and assemblies for CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Prepare and modify design drawings for new and existing parts.

Resolve technical and fabrication problems by collaborating with the sales and estimating teams.

Update previous NC programs to reflect new tooling, software, and manufacturing methods.

Reverse engineer customer-provided parts to create drawings and improve manufacturability.

Help manage electronic drawings and ensure all documentation is organized.
Qualifications

Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is required.

Familiarity with CNC programming and sheet metal manufacturing processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
