System Operator

Excellent opportunity to make an average of $880 per week. Come join this leading recyclables company that is committed  to finding ways of turning plastics into a renewable resources. Shifts are 12.5 hours per day, alternating 3 day and 4 day work weeks. This is an excellent role for those looking to have more personal time while still earning a great average weekly pay. 

Role Overview

Responsible for operation of chemical processing plant equipment. The System Operator is also responsible for Quality Control (QC) records associated with the plant inputs and the system’s outputs.

As part of the Operations team, the System Operator provides input on operational processes, equipment design, safety concerns, and other topics.

The qualified candidate will have a demonstrated affinity for understanding how automated fluid handling equipment works and translating that understanding into effective and efficient equipment operation.

Critical Conditions for Success

  • Supports the shift lead by safely starting, stopping, monitoring, and tuning the plant processing equipment as directed by applicable plant SOPs.
  • Operate plant equipment to ensure safe operation and a quality product.
  • Complete all plant operating logs and records. Make note of and pass along plant observations to assist with maximizing plant uptime and productivity.
  • Notify the shift lead when issues with the plant processing system arise.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, provide suggestions for and act on continuous improvement ideas
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with policies and procedures for a clean and safe environment.
  • As directed by plant management, assist in training new system operators.

Qualifications

Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience using computerized controls (PLC, HMI, SCADA) to operate automated processing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to effectively track and monitor multiple pieces of automated equipment operating concurrently.
  • Experience operating a bridge or mono-rail crane and fork lift.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals from other departments and outside resources to effectively implement new methods and equipment.
  • Ability to operate automated control systems as needed for a 24/7 process.
  • Ability to be certified to wear a respirator while performing production tasks.

Education/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Other Qualifications

  • The ability to stand, bend, twist, for 4+ hours at a time.
  • The ability to perform maintenance on system equipment.
  • The ability to use tools, shovel, sweep, load & unload, and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English is required.
  • Shift work is required; overtime work may be required.
