Objective: This position is responsible for maintenance and/or repairs to diesel trucks in addition to repairs of all internal production equipment.
Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Performs preventative maintenance and needed repairs on all internal production equipment.
- Collects new equipment upon arrival, and performs inspection to ensures the equipment is ready to work and is able to operate effectively.
- Performs maintenance, repairs and equipment mounting for diesel trucks at customer request or under sales/service agreement.
- Attends training to become oriented with vendors; meetings include information about hydraulics, electrical, operation of vehicles. Assists with keeping all of the customers informed about process and condition of vehicles having work performed in the shop.
- Operates fork lift as necessary and when required.
- Ensures all Purchase Order and Service Repair Order paperwork is processed in a timely manner.
Diesel Mechanic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous trucking and mechanical (including hydraulics) work experience is required. CDL license is preferred at time of hire.
- Valid US DOT medical card required
Diesel Mechanic Physical Requirements:
- Regularly sit, stand, walk,
- Frequently climb, lift (up to 50 pounds), pull/push, stoop/crouch, crawl carry, grasp, and reach.
- Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4pm
Wage: $23.00 – $27.00/hr.
