Senior PLC Controls Engineer Facilities at our fabrication facility in the Portland, Oregon, area. The main task of the Senior Controls Engineer Facilities is to ensure the best performance of equipment and systems in their area and implement process improvement and cost reduction projects.

***Must be available to work and/or relocate to the Portland Oregon area. This is NOT a remote role***

Senior PLC Controls Engineer  Facilities Responsibilities:

  • Ensure reliable operation of critical facilities control systems, including PLC distribution cabinets, Facilities Monitoring System (FMS) with Cimplicity SCADA servers, Fire system PLC’s, Toxic Gas and Chemical monitoring devices.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all systems in their area.
  • Contribute to prompt investigations and implementation of corrective actions for facility issues.
  • Manage projects, including budgets and construction-related activities.
  • Track and manage system capacities and I/O availability.
  • Establish standard operating conditions and ensure standardization across shifts.
  • Support training and interaction with employees on all shifts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Site Services, Instrumentation technicians, and other departments to support fabrication production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations impacting facilities.
  • Promote a “self-perform” culture, reducing reliance on external contractors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing facility engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, time management, and stress management skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with a professional, respectful, and accountable approach.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations impacting facilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cimplicity SCADA experience.
  • GE Fanuc PLC experience.
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing facility engineering experience.
  • AUTOCAD knowledge is a plus.

Salary: $95k – $110k

Relocation assistance to the Portland OR area. Must be available to work and/or relocate to the Portland Oregon area. This is NOT a remote role.
