The Admin Assistant/Shipping coordinator provides for the efficient operation and organization of the front office and support to the Human Resource and shipping department. Decisions are made within established guidelines, with readily available supervision.


  • Ensure that the first on-site experience a visitor has with Sun-Rype, either in person or via the switchboard, is handled in a positive and efficient manner.
  • Work with all departments in the successful implementation of the SQF program.

  • Provide support as needed to the Customer & Procurement Manager and Plant Manager.

  • Answer telephones and direct calls to the appropriate associate.

  • Take and retrieve messages for various personnel.

  • Responsible for sorting, distributing, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Maintain Inventories for front office/Shipping department.
  • Organize, label and maintain parts room layout and shelving.

  • Contact vendors via telephone or fax to purchase parts and supplies.

  • Check price and availability of parts and supplies via telephone or fax.

  • Research parts and equipment for proper application and purchasing.

  • Complete paperwork

  • Review “Purchase Requests” and follow-up on any discrepancies with the appropriate persons

  • Generate Purchase Orders as needed.

  • Maintain PO book and assign PO numbers.

  • Maintain an accurate filing system of parts ordered and received.

  • Receive parts and compare packing lists to parts received.

  • Utilize Tools and Equipment

  • Drive company vehicles to pick up parts from local vendors.

  • Keep parts office and room clean and follow GMP’s.


  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Practical working knowledge of MS Office Suite required.
  • Accuracy in data entry.
  • Superb organization skills and attention to details.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.


  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience utilizing office procedures (working in an office setting).

  • Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

  • Washington State Driver’s License
