Do you have excellent communicational skills and have led a team as a Plant Manager? Atlas Staffing is seeking a Plant Manager to work with one of our clients in Wapato, WA!

This position is responsible for oversight of all manufacturing related aspects of the operation, including production, maintenance, purchasing, employee relations and shipping/receiving as well as the safe and cost-effective operation of the Wapato facility. Provide strategic leadership necessary to meet both short-term and long-term corporate objectives. Seek out innovative solutions to the growth of the business and increasing profitability. The position reports to the Director of Operations and is a part of the senior leadership and steering committee team.

Responsibilities:
Role in Safe Quality Food (SQF)

  • Ensure all SQF guidelines and the SRC Food Safety programs are followed.
  • Ensure all salaried staff are properly trained in understanding the Food Safety program and SQF guidelines that apply to their area.
  • Work jointly together with QA Supervisor to ensure program training goes out to all employees and that programs are implemented and effective.
  • Enforce HACCP and GMP requirements.
  • Create a culture that focuses on producing Safe, Quality Food

Operate the Wapato facility in a financially responsible manner:

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the equipment, processes, jobs and people.
  • Review performance against operating plans and standards.
  • Work closely with team to address issues, identify opportunities and implement improvements.
  • Set annual cost of goods standards, establish budgets and review monthly reports for variances.
  • Reduce operating costs through systematic optimization of processes, resources and equipment.

Employee Relations and Development:

 

  • Lead by example
  • Implement effective programs which may include progressive discipline, compensation review and attendance management.
  • Implement a system of Key Performance Indicators to allow daily assessment and rapid response to deviations by supervisory team.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to focus all employees on corporate priorities with a sense of commitment and urgency
  • Capitalize on experiences, knowledge and capabilities of each employee to build a stronger team.
  • Develop the management team through goal and expectation setting, training and mentoring.

To assist with achieving the corporate goals of the company.

  • Understand corporate goals as they relate to Wapato’s operation.
  • Ensure that Wapato meets corporate expectations and legal obligations. Report all significant risks and liabilities immediately.
  • Pursue synergies with other facilities to reduce costs. (Share resources and equipment, group service contract rates, parts management, etc.

Safety:

  • Understand all safety procedures and policies.
  • Lead a systematic analysis to identify gaps and implement corrective measures.
  • Work with supervisors to develop a documented system of safety monitoring.

Quality:

  • Ensure quality and HACCP standards are maintained and followed.
  • Work with Quality Supervisor to maximize utilization of quality resources.
  • Participate in resolution of quality issues.

 

Shift:5-7 days a week depending on production needs)
Wage: DOE (Depending on Experience) 

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skill Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce or business with a professional accounting designation.
  • 2-3 years of Accounts Payable and office experience with strong accounting skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Accuracy in data entry
  • Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience leading and developing others.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Personally invested in the success of the business
  • Motivated, focused and accountable for results
