The Senior PLC Process Control Engineer role entails overseeing the development, management, and optimization of PLCs, including collaboration with contractors on major projects, providing training to Technicians or supervisors, and being available for weekend and night shifts. Additionally, responsibilities include assisting in the design, programming, and management of HMIs, along with fulfilling any other necessary tasks. Experience and knowledge of working in the food manufacturing industry.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Background in Allen Bradley PLC programming: RSLogix500, RSlogix5000, RSNetWorx
  • Background in Allen Bradley HMI programming: Factory TalkME, Factory TalkSE, RSView32, PanelBuilder32
  • Familiarity with DeviceNet, ControllNet and Ethernet (networking).
  • Familiarity with Process Control, Sensors, Transducers and VFD’s.
  • Comfortable working in the plant on devices and in electrical panels.
  • Actively participate in any new equipment related to automation and integration

Robotics:

  • Fanuc pick & place arms
  • Program, troubleshoot and repair HMI PC’s in the facility.
  • Write or modify PLC program logic as required.
  • Troubleshoot and repair peripheral devices, temperature, pH, flow, conductivity controllers, VFD’s as needed.

 
PLC Process Control Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, diagnose, and rectify issues with PLCs such as Allen Bradley Micrologix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Siemens (S7-300), and Omron.
  • Handle programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Motor Control systems including Allen Bradley PowerFlex 5,500 and 700 VFDs, Schneider/Telemecanique Altivar VFDs, SEW Eurodrive, Danfoss, and ELAU Pacdrive.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and repair various Robotics applications like cutting and stirring systems, as well as Fanuc pick and place arms.
  • Oversee HMI PC programming, modification of PLC program logic as necessary, and troubleshooting/repair of peripheral devices such as temperature, pH, flow, and conductivity controllers, as well as VFDs.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

 Qualifications/Experience

  • At least three years of experience in modifying, specifying, designing, and implementing automated control systems.
  • Minimum two years of experience in programming, debugging, and troubleshooting automated control systems and associated components.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming (RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, RSNetWorx) and HMI programming (Factory TalkME, Factory TalkSE, RSView32, PanelBuilder32).
  • Familiarity with DeviceNet, ControllNet, Ethernet networking, Process Control, Sensors, Transducers, and VFDs.
  • Comfortable working with plant devices and electrical panels, and available for on-call duty during weekends and after-hours.
  • Actively engage in automation-related equipment integration and undergo ongoing training to stay updated with new technologies.
  • Preferred knowledge in Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in the food manufacturing industry.

Generous benefit package and annual bonus

Salary: $100k to $120k/yr.
