Sr Plant Maintenance Engineer

Sr Plant Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities, aiming for increased efficiency and effectiveness in manufacturing processes (e.g., waste reduction, labor cost reduction).
  • Ensure successful completion of department projects and goals within allocated budget.
  • Direct adjustments in manufacturing processes to uphold standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace and government-mandated standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, OSHA).
  • Prepare various reports for top management, including recommendations for corrective actions or adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain overall safety of personnel through regular department inspections, implementing changes to prioritize efficiency without compromising safety and health.
  • Coordinate departmental activities by collaborating with Assistant Manager and other Managers.
  • Provide explanations for variances in labor costs and productivity.
  • Uphold adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies and procedures, as well as ensure proper equipment maintenance.
  • Support Plant Director in preparing annual budgets and Cap Ex projects, including data collection, preparation, and presentation to top management.
  • Collaborate with other management to establish and communicate company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
  • Ensure successful completion of department-specific initiatives, such as capital projects.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, performance appraisal, and coaching of employees, as well as address complaints and resolve problems.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or technical school.

Experience:

  • 3 – 4 years of related experience in the field.
  • Experience in food production and packaging, or related field.

Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic algebra skills.

Specialized Knowledge ad Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of equipment and processes, including HTST pasteurization process, membrane system filtration (Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Microfiltration, Nanofiltration), evaporators, and whey or milk drying.
  • Mechanical inclination to collaborate effectively with the Maintenance department.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary: $105,000 to $115,000/yr.
