The Plant Production Supervisor  located in Boise Idaho oversees employees in a designated department within a manufacturing setting. This role involves coordinating and assigning tasks, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in manufacturing methods, equipment, and processes. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; and resolving complaints and issues.

****  Worksite location: Boise Idaho area.****

Must be able to work one weekend evening either Saturday or Sunday.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience required in a food processing/manufacturing plant.
  • Experience in production, packaging, warehouse, and/or distribution preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Food Safety, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO certifications within the food industry (FSSC, ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency with computers and systems (Microsoft Word, manufacturing operating systems)
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Ability to work overnight 3rd shift

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve problems.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate daily operations and their impact on department performance.
  • Identify employee strengths and weaknesses, providing training and coaching to address weaknesses and leverage strengths.
  • Assess staff and department performance, recommending and initiating training, development, communication, and discipline as needed.
  • Resolve work problems and assist employees in problem-solving, motivating them to achieve organizational goals.
  • Meet regularly with management and other supervisors to discuss departmental issues.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training personnel as necessary.
  • Perform administrative duties accurately and professionally, including handling phone calls, voicemails, paperwork, scheduling, and attending meetings.
  • Ensure employees understand job requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Adjust manufacturing processes to maintain conformance with standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports on production volume, yields, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities with other supervisors to ensure departmental alignment.
  • Schedule staff and estimate worker hour requirements for daily job assignments.
  • Review and approve time records of staff, explaining variances in hours worked and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, QC policies, and procedures, and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide data for budget creation or implementation.
  • Collaborate with other management to establish and communicate company policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Execute quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
  • Work closely with Maintenance on equipment and department maintenance issues.
  • Ensure department efficiency by assisting with tasks such as printing labels, moving pallets, and filling in for workers as needed.
  • Review technical problems and recommend solutions.
  • Inspect the department and equipment to ensure optimal housekeeping conditions.
  • Support a safe and positive work environment, analyzing and resolving work and employee issues.
  • Be prepared for travel and extended or off-hours work as required.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

Shift: Hours: 3rd shift: 5:30pm to 5:30am (overnight shifts)
Shift Days: Sunday to Tuesday or Thursday to Saturday (half shift on Wednesday)

Salary $70k/yr.
