As a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food products. You will work closely with plant operations to uphold strict quality standards and ensure that every product meets our rigorous specifications. REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior experience in food manufacturing and familiarity with USDA regulations are preferred.
- 2 years of experience in quality control/food processing
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Quality Checks: Conduct essential quality inspections across various departments, including string, fresh mozzarella, shred, sticks, and mozzarella. This includes metal detector checks, leaker checks, weight checks, analytical checks, and other verifications to ensure products meet exacting specifications.
- Non-Conformance Rechecks: When a quality check indicates a potential issue, carry out thorough rechecks to confirm non-conformance and take appropriate actions to address it.
- Initiate Hold Procedures: Assist in initiating hold procedures for any non-conforming products during packaging, ensuring that only the best products reach our customers.
- Sample Collection: Pull samples from production lines as per the sampling plan for microbiology, chemistry, sensory, shelf life, and pathogen analysis to maintain product integrity.
- Screen Sort Checks: Complete screen sort checks as outlined in sorting procedures, properly tagging any product that requires additional action to meet standards. Notify the QA team of any major defects or patterns promptly.
- Accurate Documentation: Accurately document all quality checks, including corrective actions taken for non-conforming results, in a timely manner.
- Additional QA Tasks: Perform additional quality-related tasks such as pulling air samples, conducting hand swabs, and maintaining our shelf-life library to ensure a safe production environment.
- Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, as well as sensory analysis, to continuously improve our quality processes.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze data, draft reports, and review manuals and procedures to contribute to ongoing quality improvements.
Education:
- High School Diploma preferred; an associate’s degree is a plus.
Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience in food manufacturing and familiarity with USDA regulations are preferred.
- 2 years of experience in quality control/food processing
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read and draft reports, manuals, and procedures are essential.
Salary: $20.84/hr $3.00/hr additional overnight shift = $23.84/hr
- Weekend shift differential of $2.50/hr. when working weekends
Hours: 6:00pm to 5:30am
Rotating Weekly Shift:
- Monday – Thursday
- Thursday – Sunday
