Packing Supervisor
(Food processing plant)
12 hour shift (5:30 pm – 5:30 am) Alternating weekends off (Sunday to Tuesday or Thursday to Saturday and every other Wednesday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.
- Ensures department is running in a smooth efficient manner, completes supervisor rounds as required.
- Works with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Suggest and debates alternative methods and procedures in problem solving procedure.
- Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.
- Monitors punches and ensures there are sufficient personnel including temporary hours.
- Completes all records and charting as required.8. Meets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation supervisors to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.
- Conducts department employee meetings on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
- Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations).
- Responsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary.
- Actively works on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments.
- Maintains open communication with all employees including department managers.
- Implements special projects and procedures as directed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Ability to perform a multitude of tasks.
• Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.
Education and/or Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate’s degree in business administration or dairy science preferred
• Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
Salary:
$58,500 – $70,000
