Assistant Plant Manager –  Whey Plant 

**** Work location is in Nampa Idaho ****

**** Industry experience required in dairy/whey ****

We are seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Plant Manager to support our Whey Plant operations in Nampa, ID. In this key leadership role, you'll work closely with the Plant Director to oversee production, manage site operations, and ensure the highest standards of quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Plant Director in achieving the plant’s financial and production goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance with a positive and professional attitude across all production areas and related departments, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee general site operations, including equipment maintenance and the management of maintenance technicians, to meet production targets by inspiring and motivating staff.
  • Manage Production and Packaging departments, ensuring that established production practices are followed to maintain product quality in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with department managers and the Night Superintendent to stay informed on department issues and work collaboratively on solutions.
  • Focus on maximizing product recoveries and yields while maintaining the highest possible product quality.
  • Organize and optimize team performance, including efficiency and headcount management.
  • Plan and schedule workforce deployment to meet production requirements.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Food Safety Team to ensure ongoing compliance with product specifications and quality standards.

Required Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related field from a four-year college or university.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

  • 5-8 years of experience in a related field and knowledge of Whey, Dairy products.
  • Previous experience in employee supervision, particularly in production or plant environments.
  • Proficiency in ISO quality management systems, HACCP, and statistical process control.
  • Strong understanding of agri-food industry technology, processes, quality, food safety, and health safety standards.
