The Business Development Coordinator (Inside Sales and Sales Support) will report directly to the Vice President of Food Service and will play a key role in lead generation, prospect qualification, and sales execution through phone, online communication, and in-person direct sales within Arizona. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a strong sales acumen and a results-driven mindset.
Purpose of Role
To provide exceptional inside sales and customer support while acting as a key player in executing food shows, managing sample logistics, and optimizing distributor brand presence
Responsibilities
1. Inside Sales & Customer Support
- Respond promptly and professionally to all inbound leads via phone, email, and website.
- Handle all inbound customer service inquiries with a helpful, brand-aligned tone.
- Enter and update customer interactions, opportunities, and issues into CRM system.
2. Sales Support & Representation
- Attend and support food shows, ride-alongs, customer samplings, and distributor sales meetings.
- Travel as needed with the sales team
- Ensure all pre-event logistics (samples, marketing materials, show kits) are shipped and ready.
3. Sample Kit Management
- Manage DOT sample kits: maintain inventory levels, coordinate with warehouse, ensure readiness.
- Handle direct samples: track requests, ship on time, follow up with sales team and recipients.
- Ensure accurate follow-through on every sample—timing, tracking, and customer impact.
4. CRM & Lead Management
- Support sales team with CRM lead tracking, follow-up reminders, and activity logging.
- Coordinate with sales reps on Constant Contact email marketing and follow-up campaigns.
- Ensure consistent communication with prospects and current customers.
5. Distributor Website/Portal Oversight
- Own the accuracy of our brand presence on distributor portals: images, product descriptions, spec sheets.
- Ensure every site reflects up-to-date flavor availability, pack sizes, and promotional materials.
- Be proactive in improving our digital shelf presence.
Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Inbound lead response time & conversion rate
- Customer service satisfaction/resolution rate
- On-time sample shipments & sample-to-sale conversion tracking
- CRM task completion & follow-up adherence
- Accuracy and completeness of distributor portal updates
- Execution of food show logistics (number of events + success feedback from sales reps)
Requirements
- Proven experience in inside sales, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Manage sales samples and marketing material requests.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new sales techniques and technologies.
- Compile and disseminate internal communications between sales and other departments.
- Must be proficient with the entire Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel knowledge.
Educational Requirements
- Must have an associate degree or completed college level course work.
Working Conditions
- Normal for office environment.
- Normal for a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work sitting down for an extended period.
- Ability to build excellent working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
- Ability to tolerate normal warehouse conditions as needed.
- Drug free work environment.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Nights and weekends required, as needed.
- Travel required.
