Inside Sales & Service Representative
Location: Yakima, WA
Salary: $60,000 base
Join our Yakima team as an Inside Sales & Service Representative, where you’ll play a vital role in driving sales and delivering top-tier customer service—primarily over the phone and occasionally in person. You’ll support customer needs from start to finish, helping to grow our customer base, improve satisfaction, and exceed revenue and profit goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently meet or exceed sales and gross profit targets set by management.
- Collaborate with the Profit Center Manager (PCM) to define revenue and margin goals.
- Accurately enter sales orders and bids from telephone transactions.
- Assist customers who pick up orders at the Profit Center.
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing customers and act as a trusted advisor.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to generate new business and leads.
- Promote and explain value-added services to increase customer loyalty.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues—including pricing discrepancies and material returns—efficiently and in line with company policies.
- Support all Profit Center operations, including Counter Sales and Outside Sales efforts.
- Alert the PCM and Credit Manager to any credit risk concerns based on customer activity.
- Complete all required safety and compliance training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Work will be performed in both office and warehouse environments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or inside sales; contractor sales experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with building products or materials sold at a Profit Center is preferred.
Key Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for communication, reporting, and customer analysis.
- Strong verbal communication, phone etiquette, and listening skills.
- Ability to clearly explain product features and recommend upsell/cross-sell solutions.
- Skilled in building trust and rapport with customers and vendors through interactive, open communication.
- Confident asking strategic questions to understand customer needs and objections, presenting solutions, and closing sales.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Quick to learn order-processing systems and warehouse equipment operation.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and decimals.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
