Job Description: Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Director of Facilities and Maintenance
Job Type: Full-Time – Temp to Hire — Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting operational efficiency by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across the facility and equipment. This role ensures the workplace remains in optimal working condition to meet production and operational demands. The Maintenance Technician works directly under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on equipment and systems.
  • Document and update maintenance logs for all machinery and systems.

Facility Repairs

  • Address plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repair issues as they arise.
  • Assist in maintaining the exterior and interior of the facility, including minor structural fixes.

Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery, tools, and production equipment.
  • Work closely with operators to identify recurring issues and implement solutions.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed following safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the implementation and upkeep of workplace safety standards, including fire safety systems and emergency procedures.

Inventory and Supplies Management

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining spare parts and supplies inventory.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and readily available.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Collaborate with production staff and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance on maintenance activities, issues, and improvement opportunities.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support special projects, facility upgrades, or process improvements as directed.
  • Respond promptly to facility or equipment emergencies during and outside of regular work hours.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills for logging maintenance tasks and using maintenance software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds regularly.
  • Comfort with working at heights, in confined spaces, or under varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery noise, temperature variations, and industrial chemicals.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as per company policies.
