Job Title: Administrative Assistant – Human Resources (Temporary)
Location: Yakima, WA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 3–4 weeks (based on department needs)
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $20.00/hr
 

Position Overview:
A temporary opportunity is available for an organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Human Resources department. This position plays a key role in assisting with administrative tasks, employee inquiries, benefits coordination, and HR documentation.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of related administrative experience preferred
  • Experience in Human Resources or higher education is a plus

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Teams)
  • Comfortable using virtual meeting software and HR-related systems
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Ability to coordinate projects, prioritize assignments, and manage time effectively
  • Team-oriented with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external staff in person, over the phone, and virtually
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding employment and benefits
  • Monitor and manage the HR department’s email inbox
  • Conduct employment reference checks and assist with HR internal audits
  • Support benefit administration including open enrollment, benefit changes, invoice reconciliation, and report generation
  • Provide technical assistance with HR software and databases
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with departmental standards and procedures
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
