Atlas Staffing is hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer & Sheet Metal Programmer for a great manufacturing client in Liberty Lake, WA.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically-minded person to get in at the ground level, assisting with everything from design and CNC programming to troubleshooting fabrication problems. You will be a key part of the engineering team, contributing to new projects and improving existing products.

Job Summary

The Junior Engineer/Programmer assists in creating design drawings, programming CNC machines, and troubleshooting mechanical/fabrication problems in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure all manufacturing is productive, cost-effective, and meets quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program parts and assemblies for CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

  • Prepare and modify design drawings for new and existing parts.

  • Resolve technical and fabrication problems by collaborating with the sales and estimating teams.

  • Update previous NC programs to reflect new tooling, software, and manufacturing methods.

  • Reverse engineer customer-provided parts to create drawings and improve manufacturability.

  • Help manage electronic drawings and ensure all documentation is organized.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is required.

  • Familiarity with CNC programming and sheet metal manufacturing processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
