Janitor / Facilities Custodian (Part-Time)
Location: Boise, Idaho
Wage: $19.00/hr
Schedule: Part-Time – 25 hours per week (Monday–Friday; schedule to be determined)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Part-Time Janitor / Facilities Custodian to support cleanliness, safety, and organization across a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety and company policies.
Primary Responsibilities
Janitorial & Facility Cleaning (Primary Focus)
- Clean and sanitize interior and exterior lobbies, vestibules, conference rooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and scrub floors using appropriate equipment
- Clean and sanitize doors, stairwells, railings, cabinets, tables, and high-touch surfaces
- Clean interior and exterior windows (low-rise and high-rise glass)
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, power washers, ladders, and scissor lifts as needed
- Ensure all facility spaces meet cleanliness standards
- Properly use required PPE and follow all safety and environmental policies
- Complete tasks based on verbal or written instructions, work orders, and preventive maintenance forms
Shop & Facility Support
- Assist with general cleanliness in machine shop areas as needed
- Mop machine shop floors to remove excess oil (as assigned)
- Remove aluminum chips and assist with recycling bin maintenance
- Keep areas around recycling and waste containers clean and organized
- Empty trash and recycling bins in common areas
- Shuttle trash dumpsters as needed
- Notify supervisor when recycling or waste bins require service
- Coordinate work to avoid disrupting production activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Manufacturing or shop environment experience a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work safely around machinery and equipment
- Forklift experience a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds safely
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, push, and twist for extended periods
- Ability to work in tight spaces and at heights
- Comfortable using ladders, lifts, and cleaning equipment
