Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Supervisor
Pay: $25.00 – $27.00/hour (wage will increase upon moving to a supervisory role)
Position Overview
This position begins as a Maintenance Technician, responsible for performing a wide range of facility and equipment maintenance tasks within a manufacturing environment. The role includes hands-on repair work, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of production equipment and facility systems.
This is a growth-focused opportunity with a clear path to advance into a Maintenance Supervisor role, where the individual will take on leadership responsibilities, oversee maintenance operations, and support team development.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Technical Duties
- Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on facility systems and production equipment
- Work safely in and around manufacturing machinery and equipment
- Complete special projects including construction, framing, drywall, painting, metal cutting, and grinding
- Install and maintain network cabling and camera systems
- Perform plumbing work including valves, PVC, and copper lines
- Conduct basic electrical repairs (switches, lighting, etc.)
- Assist with equipment repairs, modifications, and fabrication work
- Perform carpentry, roofing, and minor vehicle repairs as needed
- Operate forklifts, company vehicles, and scissor lifts
Safety & Compliance
- Complete safety checklists and fire extinguisher inspections
- Follow all safety policies, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements
- Ensure proper disposal of oils, fluids, coolants, filters, and waste materials
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Maintenance Operations
- Utilize equipment manuals and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and complete work orders accurately
- Collect and report equipment data for diagnostics and performance tracking
- Communicate equipment needs and maintenance requirements clearly
Supervisory Responsibilities (as applicable)
- Lead and support maintenance and facilities team
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems including PLC-controlled equipment, HVAC, pumps, and utilities
- Ensure facility infrastructure (electrical, compressed air, water systems, exhaust, etc.) is maintained
- Respond to equipment or facility emergencies and lead root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable safety regulations
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, and OEM service providers
- Drive continuous improvement in equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance processes
- Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff performance
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and equipment reliability
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience (supervisory experience preferred for leadership duties)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs safely (with or without assistance)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and twist for extended periods
- Comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights (ladders, lifts, mezzanines)
