Title: Administrative Assistant

Department:  Human Resources

Personnel Type: Temp staff

Hours: 8am – 5pm, M-F

Duration:  3-4 weeks depending on project completion

Start Date: 11/24/2025

Hourly Rate:  $20.00/hour

 

Education Requirements: 

High School Diploma or GED

 

Experience Requirements:

Prefer two (2) years of related experience or Human Resources experience in higher education

Strong organization, interpersonal, and planning skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work with and manage different computer programs and databases with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and Teams) and familiarity with virtual meeting software

Ability to work in a team and flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances

Ability to problem solve by analyzing issues, creating action plans, and following through resolution

Ability to coordinate projects and people; prioritize assignments, and self-direct workflow

Ability to schedule activities and/or meetings

 

Essential Job Functions:

Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external audiences in person, on the phone and virtually

Performs administrative tasks including responding to employee inquiries regarding employment and benefits, checking employment references, monitoring, and responding to emails in the HR email inbox, and assisting with HR internal audits

Supports the group benefits function inclusive of benefit changes and updates, open enrollment, reconciling invoices, and running routine audits and reports

Provides technical support for human resources staff with software utilized by the department

Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards

Conducts self appropriately and consistently in accordance with the philosophy and mission of PNWU

Other duties as assigned
